amazing, especially the falling petals. theres something not quite right with the lower body though..... or maybe its just my eyes 9/10

Oh, I like the face a lot. Unfortunately I feel there is sth wrong with her breast area and the abdomen. The breasts are too squished even for a corset, and there is no shade under them :/ Also it took me some time to notice the petals, but now that I am aware of them I think I like them, although they do remind me of American Beauty :) 6/8

Can I ask: what is this texture I see on the right (our right) that can be seen through her dress? Is that Intended?

I instantly thought of your girl from Tears Won't Fall...they look very similar.

I think you did a better job here with the viewer immersion than last time with the snowflakes too. As usual you have a very warm soft feel, I'm a contrast junkie..but your style is your style :p

The only real crit I have is her mannequin-esque expression. She seems happy, but with the lighting and all she seems kinda plastic.

(thumbup)(thumbup) for the angle and overall concept.

Gorgeous painting. I think her face is absolutely wonderful but a bit too pale. Very nice perspective too.

OMG....I love the pale look...
so surreal....But Brett somehow said the right word :)
But I love your soft style...and very dreamy and surreal.
I love the angle so much here...She looks happy in such a calm way...
I love the WIP too, her pose kinda reminded me of N.Kidman's on Moulin Rouge, on the end scene when she was about to die...

well done!!!! personally this is my favourite artwork of yours!!! this is also in my opinion the greatest face youve ever pulled off! shes absolutely beautiful!

just a little crit though. the right eye is looking at you and the left eye isnt. in my opinion, i would not have her looking at the viewer. i would adjust the right eye to match the direction that the left eye is looking. it would be as though she is looking at something higher up in the clouds or just up into the sky, also adding a feel of a bigger atmosphere to the artwork, instead of her looking at the camera which is close, restricting the feel of her being in a greater atmosphere, and a bigger atmosphere is always a good thing, especially when it comes to a beautiful sort of artwork like this.

i also agree with katea about the breasts, but aside from all that it is a great piece of artwork!!

btw, how much reference did you use? you did use for her face right?

this is a nice piece Linda.
However, as some already said, the abdomen area is not right with the perspective...

I like the softnesse of her face and the colors...

+8/10

Nice work. I don't really like the way you approached the dress. I guess it should be blurred for the effect, but maybe another way of painting it blur would have been better. I think it's because of the sudden contrast between sharp body and blurred dress.

She had less boobs before but everyone, including the client, said she should have more "squeeze" Well I tried.

Katea: I used two texture overlays, the watercolour "creases" one was from RobG on Eatpoo here http://www.eatpoo.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=38371 the horizontal grain one was from http://www.thedigitalartshop.com/ which I've also used on the walls in The Burden of Imagination by Elite PeachySticks

Wysiwyg: ha, maybe it's the red hair

bellas: in the original sketch for the composition, she had her hands to the side but the client wanted to to hold the bouquet like this. So it's not like I tried to avoid painting her hands (but just as well!) ;)

WarrenLouw: damn, I thought I nailed the dreamy gaze looking-past-your-shoulder eyes ^^; The face I had no refs, since it's a really simple angle & lighting, the pose/perspective I supposed was kinda similar to that La Traviata poster http://stickydoodle.com/wip/hotupub/dm12/latraviatalarge.jpg The ruched back part of the dress was pretty closely ref'd off these http://stickydoodle.com/wip/hotupub/dm12/organza_ref.jpg I think if you look hard enough you might recognize specific similar ones. :)

ARTOONATOR: I think you're right about the blurriness... I didn't know how to approach the softness, maybe I over soft airbrushed it a little. Could be that I keep going over large areas to correct colours, I have that habit.

Thanks to everyone for your comments too.
